The Pain Management Center of Meridian was founded on August 14, 2004 in the same-day surgery clinic of then Riley Hospital by Dr. Azhar Pasha and Dr. Hashim Khan. Initially, these physicians served the clinic's only staff. As the clinic's patient population expanded, so did we. We added our first nurse practitioner, Kennedy Smith, in 2007 and continued expanding from there.

 

2011 brought change to the Pain Management Center of Meridian, as Riley Hospital was purchased and absorbed by Anderson Regional Medical Center. In this transition, the Pain Management Center of Meridian was given an exclusive contract for in-house outpatient services. Additionally, the staff and patients of the Pain Management Center of Meridian experienced change as Dr. Khan relocated to Denver for his family.

The Pain Management Center of Meridian expanded in 2012, adding the third floor of the annex building to help with registration and additional space for providing treatments. We also introduced electronic medical records, which helped us in providing more efficient services and better documentation for our patients. In 2015, the Pain Management Center of Meridian added the fourth floor to provide additional clinic space for our growing patient population.

Over the years, Dr. Pasha has been keeping up with the latest interventional pain management techniques. By attending the Missiology Conference, presented by Radius International and run by the Spine Intervention Society, Dr. Pasha has been able to access and master cutting edge interventional procedures for our patients. In 2019, the Pain Management Center of Meridian became the first clinic in Mississippi to offer the Freedom® Stimulator system. The Pain Management Center of Meridian was designated Mississippi's first Freedom® Stimulator Center of Excellence. In 2024, Anderson Regional Medical Center became Baptist Anderson Regional Medical Center - South.
